Ideas for raising money online?

For a few months, I've been trying to scout out SIM games that will let me raise money for two different charities, ones I hold very close to my heart, on their games. However, all of the owners have given me the same runaround (we can't ask players to donate to third-party organizations, etc.) and I really just don't understand why. I'm not forcing anyone to donate, just trying to raise awareness and point out where they can.
The point is, I'd like to raise money online for these groups anyway. And I'm not sure at this point how to go about it.
Do you guys have any ideas?

Have you asked Aywas? I know they've done many charity drives in the past. I don't know if all the ideas originate with Slash or if he works with players, and I haven't been there for a few months so I don't know the atmosphere, but if I had to pick a SIM that would be up for that kind of thing it would be Aywas. :)<br /> <br /> Do you do any art at all?
